About Us
Crossed Up 4x4 Club was launched in August 2012.
We have an open invitation monthly club meeting at 7:30pm on the second Tuesday of the month, held at:
-
Baulkham Hills Sports Club
11 Renown Rd, Baulkham Hills 2153
CrossedUp 4x4 Club runs one regular day trip per month, held on the Saturday following the monthly meeting. We have named this Mud, Ruts and Rocks, and this trip will generally involve about 6 hours on the trails, often with the opportunity to camp overnight somewhere nearby. Due to the availability of tracks near Sydney, these are held in places near Lithgow, the Central Coast, Newcastle beaches or other locations within about a 2 hour drive from Western Sydney.
There are up to 10 vehicles on a trip, allowing for plenty of assistance through any obstacles encountered on the tracks. These monthly outings are suitable for any four wheel drive vehicle with a low range transfer case. Many obstacles have a go around track, and there are always people to help you to learn how to 4WD in a safe and competent manner, whilst still tackling some of the harder technical driving this sport has to offer.
Some months, a more ‘touring’ focussed trip will be organised which will include an overnight camping stop, and visit various places of interest, with some 4WDing involved. These will often coincide with a long weekend, so there’s more time to enjoy the extended experience and friendship.
Occasionally a much longer trip is planned that will visit destinations such as the Victorian High Country, Simpson Desert and Cape York. These trips require greater planning and commitment from members to arrange.
Our club has a variety of vehicles, and all 4WD vehicles with a low range transfer case are welcome, modified or not. Once you’ve been on a trip, you may ‘get the bug’ and want to look at ways to improve your vehicle to be able to attempt some of the more challenging tracks that are on offer, and increase your confidence and experience.
We are a smaller sized club, meaning that you won’t get lost in the crowd and you will have the opportunity to develop some solid friendships with other members through the regular events planned.
If you’re interested in tagging along on one of our trips, or becoming a member, please come along to one of our club meetings or send an email to: secretary@crossedup4x4.com.au
